Tharu Janjati Mahila Vikas Samiti ran a number of skill development programmes since its inception for the benefit of rural people, particularly women and girls. Some of these were:

• Cutting tailoring training programme for young women in Gonda district
• Rexene bag manufacturing training programme for girls in Gonda district
• File cover, file board and box manufacturing training programme in Gonda district
• Beautician training programme in Gonda district
• Soft toys manufacturing training programme in Gonda district
• Embroidery training programme in Lakhimpur Khiri district

These training programmes are aimed at building skills of women and girls belonging to the poorest sections of the society so they may earn an income of their own and contribute to the kitty of their families, leading to financial betterment of the families and themselves.
